About us

At Little Kookas we believe in providing a safe and nurturing environment where children can thrive while developing their strengths and exploring their interests in an inclusive and holistic setting. Our team of dedicated educators are committed to providing learning programs and environments that reflect their diverse knowledge and experience.

Our privately owned centre is conveniently located across from the local state school and is comprised of 5 rooms facilitating care to children from 6 weeks – Kindy age. We offer an all-inclusive service with the following inclusions: nutritious meals; morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea prepared onsite by our centre cook. We also supply nappies, wipes, sheets, hats and sunscreen to support unhurried and calm transitions from home to care each day. Just bring along your water bottle, shoes and a change of spare clothes (because we love messy play).

Little Kookas educators, leadership team and approved provider share a genuine passion for nurturing young minds during their most formative years. Our centre provides a vibrant and engaging environment where each child’s early learning journey is valued and supported.

Extra Curricular Activities

Often, we provide extra-curricular activities and educational incursions. Some extra-curricular activities run weekly while some selected educational incursions are arranged due to child interests at the time. Please ask our friendly staff about what current regular incursions are included in our educational programs at the moment. For reference some of the programs we have utilised are listed below.

Ngarrumban Arts and Cultural Experience

This is a fully immersive experience where First Nations advisor Dook provides an educational program on first nations culture including languages, art, dance, storytelling and music.

Yoga On Thursday we have Miss Christy visits the centre. The children are very eager to participate with doing yoga, movement exercises and dancing. We all have a fantastic time relaxing and enjoying yoga.

Private Ownership

Little Kookas has been operating since 15th March 2007. Kerry Cowley has been the Approved Provider since the centre opened, visiting us on a regular basis. Kerry spends time visiting the rooms, often getting “Hi Kerry” from the children as he enters. He spends time catching up with staff, often whilst making his cup of tea. He is always available for chats with families.

Kerry visits with his manager and spends time with the Centre Management team to guide them in running the centre. He also provides a helping hand with tidying the playgrounds and doing some of the maintenance.
