LAUGHING AND LEARNING
Here at Little Kookas our team of dedicated and passionate educators encompass three central principles: Play-Based learning, Child-Centred approaches and Positive Connections & Relationships. It is upon these three principles that Little Kookas strives to provide the children with the best tools and outcomes to build strong foundations in their early years. All of our educators are united in their philosophies and beliefs that each child is unique; meaning our approach to their learning and care needs should be also. We encourage all children to find their own learning style through unhurried play and freedom of creative exploration as they use their own imagination to develop their own understandings of the world around them.
kookas community
Little Kookas proudly boasts its ‘Kookas Community’. At the heart of Little Kookas is our strong sense of community; children, families, staff and visitors alike are all warmly welcomed and respected for who they are and what they can bring to our ‘family’. Little Kookas is a small family-owned centre, which operates independently. This structure allows us the freedom and opportunity to grow with our community and familys’ needs. At Little Kookas all educators and essential staff know all children and families creating a truly connected atmosphere.
Belonging.
Being.
Becoming.
Acknowledgment of Country
In the spirit of reconciliation, Little Kookas respectfully acknowledges the Jarowair and Giabal Nations, the Traditional Custodians of the land on which we learn, create and grow upon. We would also like to recognise the Wakka Wakka people as the First Peoples of the Land across which the Great Dividing Range expands.
We acknowledge and pay our respects to the Elders past, present and emerging and their deep spiritual relationship and connection to lands and waterways across Australia.
We promise to care for and respect the land and waterways that our Traditional Custodians have left for us to maintain for our future.
We also recognise the ongoing efforts to protect and promote Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures, which will leave a legacy for future Elders and leaders.
